Cafetería Manolo
The Cafetería Manolo is perfect in every way. Good service, good beer, and good tapas. The same owner as Bar Herjomar next door. Very delicious raciones (larger portioned tapas that you pay for).
Bar Herjomar
A classic bar of the Guzmán el Bueno neighborhood. The main problem is the space. It is usually busy, but worth it. Good tapas.
Bar La Blanca Paloma
Paying 2.50€ for a “doble” (double caña) in Moncloa is painful, but they serve the same tapas in all of La Blanca Paloma bars: a good quantity and variety but of questionable quality. Always very friendly and ideal for spending extended hours in the area.
Bar Decomeraparte
A special bar. A beautiful place with great atmosphere and excellent service. They serve “tercios” (33 cl. bottle) of Heineken and Alhambra Reserva 1925 that come with plentiful, excellent quality tapas. Without a doubt, we recommend it.
Bar La Felicidad
Dining room for sit-down eating. Somewhat small. The quality of the tapas is normal.
Bar El Urogallo
Tiene un local amplio, y un ambiente genial. Aunque la caña no sea barata, es en vaso de sidra, y las tapas que la acompañan son más que razonables. De lo mejorcito de la zona.
Bar Casa Paco
Small tapa with each caña, but what calls attention to this bar is the immense variety of tortilla española (potato omelette). They have tortillas ranging from stuffed roquefort (a French blue cheese) to bacon and cheese.
Bar La Llama
Normal tapas, but notable for their raciones (larger portioned tapas that you pay for). Always full and you have to make reservations if you want to dine. Highly recommended.
Bar La Toledana
Excellent canned and pickled snacks and perfect cañas. The tapas are very small, but all of the food that they serve is of high quality. We recommend the mejillones (mussels) and los boquerones en vinagre (anchovies in vinegar).
Cafetería Paréntesis
Their problem is also their charm: it’s very small. Their tapas are original, the service is great, and they have a terrace for the summer. We recommend it.
Bar Quirico
We must not have been lucky, because it’s a popular bar but they didn’t give us very good tapas. Still, they expanded the bar and they now have more space than they used to.
Bar Santa Elena
Frosted 56 cl (19 ounce) jarras (mugs) for 2.50€. High quantity, low quality tapas. The only downside is that it is usually too crowded.
