Bar Pintan Tapas
A colorful bar in an area with good atmosphere that combines above average homemade tapas with a friendly service. Somewhat narrow, but still a bar worth visiting.
Bar Sierra
Ideal for an afternoon of cañas that may turn into a night of partying. The tapas are hearty and get even bigger the more beer you order. The only downside, as usual: a ton of people on weekends.
Variadas y contundentes.
Sidrería del Norte
Very spacious bar with good quality food from the North of Spain, known for their raciones (larger sized tapas that you pay for). Their tapas are average.
Bar El Rincón de Alipio
Surprising discovery on Calle Ponzano. They serve original tapas with the cañas. We don’t know if this will continue to hold true, but for now, it’s one of the best bars in the area.
Cervecería Ricks
It depends on the day, but if you’re lucky you’ll get good tapas with your caña. It’s a spacious and pleasant bar.
Bar Los Torreznos
They don’t stand out much for their tapas, but it’s a beautiful bar, the cañas are well poured, and the patatas bravas (potatoes with a spicy sauce) are among the best we’ve ever tried (but paid for).
Cervecería El Jamón
The charcuterie at the entrance gives way to a bar with good tapas, good meat cold cuts, and good service. Authentic. We recommend it.
Bar Fran
A large quantity of tapas, though they aren’t too elaborate. The service is unbeatable and they have terrace seating.
Bar La Taberna de Moncloa
In a good area, with good tostas (large toasted bread with toppings) and original tapas. The only downside is the size of the tapas and the price of the caña.
Bar Los Chicos
Their specialty is “patatas bravas” (potatoes with spicy sauce). They didn’t serve us a lot, but we left very happy with the quality of their food. In addition, the bar is spacious and the service is very good.
Bar Don Óscar
Very original and delicious tapas. Still, it has some downsides including the limited space of the bar and the price of the cañas.
Cervecería El Doble
One of the best beers in Madrid. The raciones (larger sized tapas that you pay for) are not cheap, and the tapas are small, so just simply enjoy the perfect caña.
Bar Alipio Ramos
Located on a street that’s famous for its bars, it has undergone numerous renovations, but continues to keep its charm. The tapas are very average.
